Who am I, and my reasoning for creating this website.
My dad was a carpenter, most specifically a finish carpenter. He was extremely knowledgeable and versatile. He had a woodshop in the upstairs of our garage in Tonawanda NY. Growing up, I was only allowed to use the hand tools. I was to small to use power tools, so my woodworking was pretty limited.
Fast forward, my family moved down to Florida. We did not have enough room for a large woodshop but we found room in the garage for most of the power tools. I still was a bit young to operate the larger machines; however, I was able to use a small table saw.
I bought a set of wood carving chisels and began woodcarving. As my skills improved I decided to buy a 14” Rockwell bandsaw in the late 70’s. I still use this piece of equipment.
I continued to make small projects through high school. I decided to go into the Marine Corps instead of college after high school. While in the corps I was able to continue wood working projects in the Marine Corps Base woodshops.
After 4 years, I left the Marine Corps as a Sargent. I returned back to Florida and went to college. In college, I got my BSEE degree. During my college years I built several pieces of wood furniture; these include book cases, drawer units, beds, roll top organizers, makeup desks, etc.
In 1989, I built my house with my Dad’s and brother Bob’s help. During this time I began purchasing woodworking power equipment, table saw, radial arm saw, shaper, etc. Eventually, I decided to build a dedicated woodshop. Having the woodshop I was able to expand my tool collection to include a wood lathe, resaw bandsaw, panel sander, planer, and numerous hand tools.
Let the fun begin…..
Now that I have a woodshop let the creative juices flow. For over 35 years I have been creating over 450 unique items. All of which are original ideas. I do not use prepared drawings. I simply sketch a quick drawing with key dimensions and away I go.
In most cases, I try to make more than one of each item, usually less than 20. My reasoning is if I can make one item, I can operate in batch mode and make more than one of the same item. Even though most operations are easy to duplicate using power tools, all the pieces still need to be sanded and assembled. This is why I limit the quantities of the various items to 20 or less.
Often times, I look through the woodshop for wood leftover from larger projects, I can create projects from this material very easily. By doing this I can control the amount of space taken up in the woodshop by unused wood.
Purpose for this website.
Now that I am retired. I can spend more time creating unique wood projects. However, for over the last 40 years it is time to find homes for these projects.
This website is the method I can use to show the items and provide some general information regarding the item, mostly the dimensions and appearance.
If I can characterize the individual who would be interested in the items I have created, it would be someone who wants to customize the item I created for themselves or their loved ones.
In some cases, some of the items include painted flowers. These can be found on the dovetail wooden boxes with lids and the octagon tea tables.
The intention is to provide an unfished wooden item to individuals who would love to personalize the item as they desire.

To finish or not finish!
In a lot of cases, many of the items I have created do not have an applied finish. This is very intentional. If it was up to me I would apply a natural finish to the wood projects followed up with paste wax. However, to ensure the items I have made can be used by other people, a finish has not been applied.
In the cases a finish has been applied, it is typical a natural stain or stain in which brings out the beauty of the wood grain. When an item uses rough sawn cedar, I use a water base stain which brings out the color of the wood.
Is hardware included?
In most cases hardware is not included. The acceptations are indicated in the items description and picture. The items which have installed hardware are the various cabinets and some boxes which have lids. In regards to picture frames, glass is included, along with picture retaining clips. These are not installed in the wood but are taped to a small piece of cardboard.
The reasoning I did not include hardware or predrill holes, it is best the people who are interested in the items can chose the hardware as they wish.
